Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

Upon your arrival, we will pick you up at the airport, and transfer you to your hotel in Bangkok, about 30 km from the airport. You can then relax and start an exciting tour the next day.

Overnight: Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20

Day 2: Bangkok – Uthai Thani (-,)

We’ll begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Bangkok at 8 a.m. and heading to the north. Our first stop is at Lopburi, a city located around 140 kilometers north of Bangkok.

Lopburi is also called the city of monkeys because hundreds of these animals live in the center, at an old Hindu shrine. The monkeys, who also like to steal food or sometimes even cigarettes from passers-by, are tolerated here and shape the cityscape of Monkey City.

We then drive on to the famous Glass Temple in Uthai Thani. Wat Thasung, also known as Wat Chantharam, is one of the largest temple complexes in central Thailand. The impressive monument dates back to the Ayutthaya period.

After the tour, we visit the traditional fresh market in the center of the city of Uthai Thani, the capital of the province of the same name. Stroll through the colorful market and enjoy the lively and cheerful atmosphere there.

The highlight of today is a leisurely boat trip on a typical Thai longtail boat. We will travel along the Skaekrang River for around 45 minutes on this traditional watercraft. Let the beautiful natural scenery pass by leisurely while you relax and unwind.

Your accommodation for today is situated near the Skaekrang River. Once you’ve checked in, the rest of the day is yours to relax and explore at your own pace.

Overnight: Uthai River Lake – Deluxe Bungalow

Day 3: Uthai Thani – Sukhothai (B)

After breakfast, we will pick you up at your hotel and continue our journey across the gorgeous and rich Middle Plain. We’ll travel for about three hours from Nakorn Sawan and Kamphaeng Phet to Sukhothai.  Be amazed by the stunning scenery and the untouched natural beauty along the way.

On the way, we will make a short stop at a traditional banana market on the side of the road. In addition to bananas, the traders also offer other fresh regional products. You now have time to stroll around the stalls, enjoy the beautiful atmosphere, and stretch your legs a little.

Once we arrive in Sukothai, we will check into your accommodation, and you will have the opportunity to freshen up a little.

Afterward, we explore the beautifully designed “Old Sukhothai Historical Park”. There are no cars here, but you have the opportunity to explore the extensive grounds on rented bicycles and enjoy some exercise in the fresh air. The park also contains numerous historical monuments, and magnificent temple complexes, such as Wat Mahatat, Wat Sra Sri, and other highlights worth seeing. You can take around 2 hours to discover all the highlights on your bike tour.

Sukhothai was the first capital of the former Kingdom of Siam. Since it was never destroyed in battles, most of the complexes within the historically valuable city are still relatively well preserved. You will spend the rest of the night near Sukothai.

Overnight: Legendha Sukhothai – Deluxe Room

Day 4: Sukothai – Lampang (B)

We will start our journey again after breakfast and head further north along a small road. After about 50 kilometers, we’ll arrive at the city of Satchanalai, which was once a sister city of Sukhothai.

Here you can explore the two majestic temple complexes of Wat Chang Lom and Wat Chedi Chet Thaew, by rental bike or on foot.

Now, we will make our way to Lampang, your next destination for today. The beautiful road is quiet and scenic. You’ll enjoy the wonderful views of the area and experience a breathtaking natural backdrop.

After arriving in Lampang, you will drive with your tour guide to the center of the city. There you will take a leisurely ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the historic center of the old town, which is well worth seeing. Enjoy this uniquely beautiful experience at the end of today’s tour.

You will spend the night in Lampang.

Overnight: Lampang River Lodge – Superior Bungalow

Day 5: Lampang – Chiang Rai (B)

Our journey continues north. After breakfast, we drive to the town of Phayao, about 100 kilometers away. Close to the provincial capital lies the largest inland lake in Thailand, Kwan Phayao. Here we take a short boat trip to an idyllically situated, pretty temple complex. We visit this temple called Wat Tilok-Aram and then make our way towards Chiang Rai, for our next overnight destination.

Before that, we will visit the famous White Temple, Wat Rong Khun. The beautiful temple complex is one of the main Buddhist attractions in Chian Rai. It was designed by the Thai artist and architect Chalermchai Kositpipat. It is striking that it was designed entirely in white. Unlike here, in Thailand, this color is the traditional color of mourning. It is also a symbol of Buddha’s purity and wisdom, which is said to shine over the earth and the universe. An incomparable building of its kind.

You spend the night in Chiang Rai.

Overnight: Hotel La Luna – Poolside Bungalow

Day 6: Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Mae Sai – Thaton (B)

After breakfast, we will pick you up and drive you to the historic city of Chiang Saen. This impressive old city was the capital of the Lanna Empire for some time.

Afterward, we will make a detour to the famous Golden Triangle. The area is so named because three countries meet here. To the east of the Mekong lies Laos, to the north of the Ruak River lies Myanmar, formerly Burma, and to the west of the Mae Khong, Thailand meets the other two countries. The locals also call this area Sop Ruak. This is the point where the two rivers, the Mekong and the Ruak, meet. The region around the Golden Triangle is also known as a primary former hub for the opium trade. Mae Sai, the border town between Myanmar/Burma and Thailand, is a well-known stronghold for smugglers.

Now we will take a 30-minute boat trip on the legendary Mekong. Enjoy the wonderful nature that passes by you while your boat glides leisurely along the mother of all rivers.

In the afternoon you will drive through a breathtaking landscape via Mea Chan through the mighty Maesalong mountain range to your next destination, the city of Thaton. Here, very close to the Mekong, is your accommodation for this night.

You will spend the night in Thaton.

Overnight: Thaton Maekok River Village – Superior Room

Day 7: Thaton – Doi Angkhang – Chiang Dao (B)

Enjoy the morning atmosphere at the Wat Thaton Temple. It is a 20-minute walk to the majestic complex. But the climb is worth it. From here you have a breathtaking view of the entire valley and the river.

The tour now continues to one of the highest mountains in Thailand. The imposing Doi Angkhang, around 1,970 meters high, offers a spectacular view. On the way there we stop at some beautiful viewpoints where you will experience enchanting photo moments.

Around midday, we reach the Royal Doi Anghang Project, countless fruit plantations, and vegetable and flower fields.

We visit some of these agricultural projects here. Here you can find out, for example, how tea is grown at an altitude of 1,700 meters. We also look at some vegetable and fruit plantations where apricots, strawberries, and peaches grow. It also explains how the king managed to talk the rural population out of opium cultivation and instead helped them to become farmers, which is very successful today.

In the late afternoon, we drive west out of the park and at around 6 p.m. we reach our resort for today near Chiang Dao.

Overnight: Aurora Resort – Superior Villa

Day 8: Chiang Dao – Wat Doi Suthep – Chiang Mai (B)

We’ll drive to the Chiang Dao cave after breakfast, where locals sell various herbs and roots believed to treat illnesses at the entrance. We then visit the Chiang Dao elephant camp. Here you will go on an unforgettable elephant safari.

For about an hour you will ride through an untouched, enchanting jungle landscape. Enjoy the tranquil, swaying trip on the back of a gentle giant as you traverse breathtaking nature.

Immediately afterward you will go on a leisurely, refreshing bamboo raft ride. Let your soul unwind as you travel along the calm and leisurely flowing Ping River.

At the end of our tour, we will continue to Chiang Mai and from there directly to the Doi Suthep mountain. Up here sits the mountain temple Wat Doi Suthep, which we will visit. The magical temple complex is located at an altitude of about 700 meters. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Chiang Mai and the wonderful surroundings.

You will spend the night in Chiang Mai.

Overnight: Banthai Village – Superior Room

Day 9: Chiang Mai (B) – End of Tour

Today, you have the freedom to explore Chiang Mai at your leisure until your transfer to the airport later. Enjoy your remaining time in the city as you wish before heading to your departure point.

Transfer to Chiang Mai airport.
