Day 1: Tonga Soa! Welcome to Antananarivo
Your trip begins in Madagascar’s capital city Antananarivo.
A guide will pick you up at the airport Ivato and bring you to your hotel, which is approximately a 45 minutes drive from the airport.

Day 2: The first adventure
After a delicious breakfast you start your journey in eastern direction, heading to Andasibe.
About halfway there, you will stop at a reptile farm to meet some interesting exotic animals.
In the late afternoon you’ll reach Andasibe, where you can take a walk to enjoy the beautiful sunset and if you’re lucky, you might see some more wild animals.

Day 3: Lemur Island
Today’s adventure is dedicated to lemures.
Many different kinds of lemurs live in the reservation of Analamazaotra, and most importantly the biggest kind, also called Indri.
The three-hour walk not only gives you the chance to see all the lemurs, the luckiest visitors are able to stroke the them if the animals come close enough to the paths.

Day 4: Antsirabe, the “Water Town”
Your drive from Andasibe to Antsirabe will contain a stop in Ambatolampy, “city of the rocks”. Discover the indigenous life and visit an aluminium foundry that mainly produces dinnerware.
Your total for the day including Ambatolampy and some foto shooting places will be around six hours. You arrive in Antsirabe in the afternoon.

Day 5: Ranomafana
After breakfast you will visit two factories. One of them upcycles recycling material to toys, the other one produces decorations out of horn. You will get to them by rickshaw.
Further highlights of the town are the market in the towncentre and the world-famous gemstone grinding shops!
When you finally arrive in Ranomafana, have yourself a relaxed evening.

Day 6: In the Jungle
Your day starts with a three-hour walk through the rainforest near Ranomafana. The unique nature will show you many different medical plants and indigenous animals like the bamboo lemures.
You will as well get to see a “tanala”, a small village inhabited by the Malagasy. The name itself means “forest dweller”-village. You will get some interesting insights into their life and culture.

Day 7: Ambalavao
The next day you will see the city Ambalavo and its famous vineyards. Visit a wine cellar and one of the traditional paper mills.
Next up is a private park that’s inhabited by Makis. Everyone knows the friendly Katta with their striped tails and they will make this trip an unforgettable experience.

Day 8: The Isalo National Park
Discover the national park on a three-hour hike and see the giant, ruin-like sandstone massifs, a botanical garden, the famous bara-graves and an oasis with crystal-clear water that offers a refreshing bath before returning.
In the afternoon you will get to know the geographic and chronological development of the massif in a museum.

Day 9: Baobabs
While driving to Ifaty, impressive baobabs and Mahafaly-graves are lining the streets.
Your stopovers will be in Ilakaka, a small village that is known for its sapphire market, followed by Reniala park, where you can catch a glimpse on some endemic species, baobabs and a bird reservation.

Day 10: Ifaty
Today feel free to do whatever you want. The beach of Ifaty is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing, furthermore there are some activities offered or you can explore the area on your own.

Day 12: Back to Antananarivo
In the morning you will be brought to the airport of Tulear to take a flight back to Antananarivo, where a transfer will wait for you to bring you to your hotel.
The rest of the day is open for your own plans. You can explore more of the already known area or explore some new places you haven’t seen yet.

Day 13: Ambohimanga
The king’s hill, Ambohimanga in Malagasy, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ancient royal residence and gravesite of kings.
Here you will learn about Madagascar’s history, followed by a city roundtrip.

Day 14: Your journey home
Today your trip will come to an end. A driver will bring you to the airport where you will start your flight back home, packed with memories and souvenirs.
