With this 13-day-roundtrip you will explore some of Costa Ricas highlights while not having to worry about anything. You can sit back and relax your holidays.

Day 1: “Welcome to Costa Rica!”

Our guide will pick you up at San José International Airport and drive you to the hotel. Your adventure starts in the capital of Costa Rica!

Day 2: Tortuguero

Your journey to Guapiles starts in the early morning. After a hearty breakfast, you head to the harbour and continue the excursion with a motorboat. With a little luck, you will see native animals such as howler monkeys, sea birds, iguanas, water turtles, herons and maybe even an anteater during the almost one-hour drive.

Laguna Lodge awaits you with a lunch buffet, afterwards you can explore the village Tortuguero.

Day 3: Rain forest adventure

After breakfast, set off on a hike through the rainforest. Keep an eye out and listen to the sounds – if you are lucky your guide can show you a few animal highlights.

After lunch, the afternoon is at your leisure: you can go on another hike, go kayaking or explore the national park and its canals.

Day 4: Volcano Arenal

From your accommodation, you will first take the boat to Pavona and then the bus to Guapiles. After lunch, a shuttle will bring you to La Fortuna, a small town at the base of the active volcano Arenal.

Despite recent sparse activity, the volcano is known for its natural beauty and is one of the most popular travel destinations in Costa Rica.

In the evening you can relax in the hotel’s hot springs.

Day 5: National park of Arenal

In the early morning you start a hike in the Arenal National Park. The highlight of the tour is the observation deck, from which you have a great view of the 1,633-meter-high volcano.

During the hike you can discover the flora and fauna and your guide will introduce you to the facts and the history of the volcano.

The afternoon is at your leisure: you can go horseback riding to the waterfall, visit a farm or take a hike with suspension bridges.

Day 6: Cloudy forest of Monteverde

After breakfast, you leave the volcano behind and your way takes you to the cloudy forest region of Monteverde. The transfer by bus and boat leads along the large Lake Arenal to a gravel road, from where you will have an awesome view of the cloudy forest.

You can have lunch at the Tree House Restaurant and then explore the Frog Pond or the Butterfly Garden on your own.

Day 7: Suspension bridges and Canopy (not included in the price)

Today we’re aiming high, you have the opportunity to admire the cloudy forest from above, from the famous suspension bridges!

Afterwards you can swing over the ground like Tarzan on the canopy facilites. For the particularly brave, there is an exciting extra, roping down with the Tarzan swing!

Day 8: Manuel Antonio

Your journey continues towards the Central Pacific. After the 4-hour drive, you arrive at the hotel in Manuel Antonio and have the opportunity to relax by the pool or visit the beach in the afternoon.

Day 9: Isla Damas Mangroven cayak tour (not included in the price)

If you choose this tour, you will get to know the important mangrove ecosystem of Isla Damas. While traveling there by bus, you will receive some information about the vegetation. The kayak tour along the shore offers a unique opportunity to observe birds, monkeys and reptiles up close.

The rest of the day is at your leisure: go swimming in the crystal-clear ocean or go hiking in the Manuel Antonio National Park and marvel at its animal diversity: capuchin monkeys, sloths and over 300 species of birds are at home there.

Day 10: Hiking in the national park of Manuel Antonio (not included in the price)

On this optional tour in one of Costa Rica’s most popular destinations, you can spot 3 of the 4 native monkey species, sloths, colorful butterflies and many tropical birds. Approximately halfway you can refresh yourself in the turquoise sea or relax on the beach.

Day 11: Sun, beach and ocean

Enjoy your day at the beach and review the last days.

Day 12: Returning to San José

After breakfast, take a shuttle service back to San José.

To finish your vacation, have a nice meal in the hotel restaurant or enjoy your last quiet hours in Costa Rica.

Day 13: See you again!

The hotel shuttle will drive you to the airport on time so that you can start your journey back home lighthearted and with a lot of wonderful memories.
